Day 7

Today, the second to last day of our J-Term, was a really exciting one. We had two ‘final looks’ to complete before the end of the course, so we had some options for how to spend our time. One of our options was to use the morning to do a test run of a look and then execute it in the afternoon, doing the same thing for the other look tomorrow. Another thing we could do was a test run of one look in the morning and one in the afternoon and then do both of the final looks tomorrow. We all chose to experiment with and finish designing look number one first thing in the morning and then take the rest of the day to complete it - planning to repeat the process for look number two tomorrow. As we worked in the morning, we had a documentary about historical makeup playing. The film was really cool and provided a lot of insight as to how people in different eras viewed makeup and what that told us about their societies. This was particularly relevant to the historical makeup that we had been doing and researching just the day before.

By the time lunch came around, a lot of us had made significant progress. When we were finished eating we continued right where we left off, working towards completing our looks. During the afternoon, we had the makeup show Glow Up playing in the background. It’s nice to have that background noise but also super inspiring to see what kinds of things these makeup artists came up with. One by one, we finished our looks. They were honestly all so cool and unique. We had people do all sorts of different things and I’m so excited to see what tomorrow brings. All of the photos of our creations for today are below.
